Caton Primary School pupils enjoy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed return to school
They each received a golden ticket, hand delivered to their homes, which they eagerly brought with them on their first morning after more than five months away from school.
Headteacher Gail Bowskill said: "We wanted to allay any worries and create excitement amongst the children about their return to school so we came up with the idea of a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme for the first few days to help the children settle back into school and reignite their love of learning.”

Hide AdAnd it certainly seemed to do the trick! One parent said: “It was like Christmas morning all over again. My daughter came running into our bedroom at the crack of dawn with a huge smile on her face, waving her golden ticket and saying that it was time to get ready for school.”
