£10,000 fine for Lancashire party organiser confirms county police force's intent
The "shocking" gathering of around 80 people took place in Hyndburn on New Year's Eve.
Deputy Chief Constable Terry Woods tweeted that it had been a "very different" New Year's Eve with Lancashire in a Tier 4 lockdown.

Hide AdHe said: "Well done @LancsPolice & @NWAmbulance who dealt with a steady stream of incidents after midnight.
Some shockers tonight e.g. Hyndburn rural property with about 80 young people there @LancsPolice stopped it & organiser reported for £10k fine."
DCC Woods tweeted that officers had been "predictably seeing an increase in reports from public of house parties".
In a series of posts, he said they had received reports of "assaults, house party fights, sadly domestic abuse and people reaching crisis".
He added: "Our commitment to protect Lancashire endures."

Hide AdThe Hyndburn party followed another event on Christmas Day in the area in which 100 people gathered under a motorway bridge in Huncoat.
Lancashire police have said they will deal with serious breaches of the Tier 4 rules.
They have urged the public to only call 999 if it is an emergency. Otherwise use the force's online services if you can.
