Morecambe author releases new trio of books
The author and former teacher from Bare, Morecambe has released ‘Jack the Lad’, a first in a series of semi-autobiographies.
In Jack the Lad the reader is transported to the mid 1940s and traces the fortunes of the Ingles family in the West Riding coal fields around Wakefield, where the author himself was born.

Hide AdIt follows Jack Ingles as he grows up in a difficult environment. Within the mining community in general and within this family in particular, conflict is an everyday fact of life that Jack has to live with in his push towards an independence of his own choosing.
The book is already receiving “excellent reviews,” says Frank, who started writing children’s books after retiring in 2006 following 40 years of teaching.
The second book called “Jack” will be released later in the year. Frank is working on the third, which will be called ‘Hit the Road, Jack.’
Frank will be signing copies of Jack the Lad at Waterstones, Corn Market, Lancaster, on Saturday July 16 from 11am. More at www.frankenglish.co.uk.
