Mr Miliband had a cup of tea in Lewis’s cafe on the promenade before meeting supporters and admiring the Eric Morecambe statue.
He said: “I am delighted to be in Morecambe and am incredibly proud to be supporting [Labour prospective parliamentary candidate] Amina Lone, who is fighting for the people of Morecambe.”

Hide AdMr Miliband, who saw first hand the busy road network across the district after being delayed by an accident and heavy traffic on the M6, said: “I think a good infrastructure is essential and we clearly need to invest in that.
“We have got to improve our transport links – it’s essential if we want small businesses to succeed.”
The Labour leader said his party would also cut business rates for small businesses in a bid to help ther local economy grow.
He also vowed to stick to his promise to cut student tuition fees from £9,000 to £6,000.
He said: “I know why students are sceptical but I am not going to break my promise.
“I don’t think we should make young people pay the price for hard times.”
