Morecambe boss Bentley: I was interested in Lee Molyneux and Matty Blair
Former Accrington man Molyneux has left Crewe for Tranmere while Fleetwood have allowed Blair to join Mansfield.
Bentley believes both would have improved his squad but players need to leave the Globe Arena before he can make January additions.

“A lad I like Blair’s just left Fleetwood. Would I have him in the team? Yes. Can I afford him? No.
“Molyneux’s another one who left Accrington and has just gone to Tranmere after being paid up by his parent club Crewe.
“Would I have him in our squad to kick us on? I would. But can I afford him? No.

Bentley’s financial situation has not changed since the start of the month and he is prepared for the possibility there may be no new arrivals in the window.
He said: “I’ve said it numerous times.
“I know what I need in the January transfer window but it’s frustrating. “I think a little injection of a couple of bodies would kick us on but it is what it is, we haven’t got a blank chequebook.
“I’ve got what I’ve got and I’ve got to go with it.
“It’s a little bit like being in Tesco and looking at a nice red wine or an expensive vodka or something like that and then checking your pocket and you’ve got nothing in the wallet.
“You go home and have a cup of tea and a glass of water instead, that’s the way it is at the moment.”
